  • Biology Teacher

    Groton School is seeking a full-time biology teacher, a faculty position, beginning in September 2024. Responsibilities will focus on teaching four biology sections, which may include one or more sections of AP Biology, in collaboration with other experienced members of the department

    Faculty members are also expected to contribute to the extracurricular life of the school and share some dormitory and residential school responsibilities.   • Classics Fellow

    Groton School is seeking a Classics teaching fellow. The teaching fellow will teach two courses in Latin in collaboration with experienced members of the department. The ability to teach Greek is desirable but not necessary.

  • History Teacher

    Groton School invites applicants for a full-time history position starting September 2024. We are seeking a dynamic candidate with a strong interest in teaching world and US history from a wide range of periods, voices, and cultures. The successful candidate will join a department committed to the school’s ideals of diversity and inclusion.   • Math Fellow

    Groton School is seeking a mathematics teaching fellow. The teaching fellow will teach two courses with the guidance of experienced members of the department. Interested candidates should have a B.A. or B.S. in mathematics and be willing to teach at the higher levels, including AP Calculus BC or Multivariable Calculus. Experience in programming is a plus, but not required.

    Groton School is seeking a full-time Physics teacher, a faculty position, beginning in September 2024. Teaching Fellow Program

  • Charles C. Alexander Teaching Fellow Program

    Groton School, a coeducational boarding school in Groton, Massachusetts, welcomes applicants to the Charles C. Alexander Teaching Fellow Program. This program serves recent college graduates interested in working under supervision to develop the varied skills required of secondary boarding school teachers. The program offers as wide an exposure as possible to all aspects of boarding school life.

    The teaching fellow's responsibilities will include teaching two classes under the supervision of an experienced member of the department as well as observation of other classes. The fields open to fellows are English, History, Mathematics, Classics, French, Spanish, Chinese, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Religion, and the Arts (not Art History), but the departments with openings vary from year to year. Openings will be listed on this page. Fellows also help coach athletics during at least two but preferably three seasons, assist in dormitory supervision one or two evenings per week and every fourth Saturday evening (or as needed), and participate in other areas of school life commensurate with their interests and talents.

    Teaching fellow appointments are one-year, salaried positions. Also provided are living quarters, meals in the school's Dining Hall, and full utilities, except for telephone. Medical insurance is offered, with recipients paying a small percentage of the premium for the plan chosen.

    We are accepting applications through January 10, 2024 for the 2024–25 school year.

  • Development Assistant

    Groton School is seeking a development assistant to provide primary administrative and data support to Groton School’s Alumni & Development Office. The ideal candidate will have a highly developed ability to be a flexible team-player, while multi-tasking a multitude of administrative functions related to fundraising events and general operations. Reporting to the manager of development operations, this is a 40-hour per week, 12-month per year, exempt, salaried staff position with benefits. 

    Responsibilities and Duties

    The Development Assistant will be responsible for:
    • Delivering database support by creating and running reports, running lists, and working within a database. 
    • Maintaining constituent data, importing new student and family data, linking records, and updating data for consistency, accuracy, and adherence to standards.
    • Providing general office support for the Development Office including a wide range of administrative duties including but not limited to assisting with mail merge communications such as solicitations and other communications, setting up email marketing and event invitations, working closely with front line fundraisers and office staff to complete projects, and other general office tasks as assigned.
    • Completing other duties and assuming other responsibilities as requested.
     
    Qualifications

    Qualified candidates will have the following:

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
    • Ability to handle multiple projects, be flexible, be able to prioritize and meet deadlines with extremely strong attention to detail
    • The ability to work closely with a varied constituent base (Alumni, Parents, Faculty and Staff), to exercise discretion, and to maintain information with appropriate confidentiality
    • Strong computer skills, including advanced expertise in Microsoft Office applications with strong knowledge of Excel and databases
    • Positive can-do attitude with willingness to learn new skills and assist in a wide range of administrative tasks 
    • Ability to work individually and as a member of a team
    • Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal
    • Experience within an independent school or non-profit office (preferred) 
    • Raiser's Edge experience (preferred)

  • Part-time Medical Chaperone

    Groton School is seeking part-time medical chaperones to transport students to off-campus appointments.
     
    These are on-call positions during the Groton School academic year (early September through June).  
     
    Responsibilities include:
    • Driving students to and from off-campus medical and behavioral health visits (in areas including, but not limited to, Boston and Manchester, NH).
    Requirements:
    • A valid driver’s license and a good driving record
    • A clean and reliable passenger vehicle 
    • Evidence of adequate liability and collision automobile insurance
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality
    • Knowledge of adolescent issues and basic familiarity with the health care environment are helpful.
